Just a measly 4mm of rain for the month of August making it one of the driest months I have seen in my time at Cool Tweed since August 2009 when just 2mm fall and that was recorded on the 31st!! The perfect sunny days have been very enjoyable though and the winds not too severe meaning less mess for us to clean up and less drying of the turf.

Other than that there is not too much to report on the courses as the lack of rainfall has dried up the roughs and the temperatures aren't quite there yet to get the warm season grasses moving.  Quite a few of the staff are taking some leave before the front 9 West greens project starts next month as well so numbers on the courses are way down.

As reported on the club website it has been decided that bunker rakes be placed outside of the bunker from next Tuesday, September 5.  We will have some signs out to remind players about the new method.

And if you ever thought you had a bad job, spare a thought for this forecaddie on the wall at Prestwick GC.  White flag for fairway and red flag for OOB!!!
